It’s refreshing to see a jeweler turn fashion designer instead of the other way around.

To be a jewelry designer you need to have a strong sense of balance and flow which carries well into many other careers. If you create the jewelry yourself you also need coordination and an eye for detail. Perfectionism is a plus!

All this came into play with her winning fashion collection.

Recently while checking links I visited Russell Jones blog. I then stumbled across Kleinodienbuch der Herzogin Anna von Bayern (The Jewel Book of Archduchess of Baveria)- an amazing book with examples of hand painted gouache renderings by Hans Mielich (1516-1573) at the Digital Library Department of the Bavarian State Library which has been digitizing historical collections of books for online viewing.

This library collection is a must see for anyone interested in antique manuscripts.

I love painting with gouache and watercolor to create my jewelry designs so this is a real treasure to find. Can’t wait to explore the rest of the library.
